Junior League Sustainers are women who have been in the League 8 years or longer and who have contributed to the success of the League, and the community, through years of service.

Junior League Sustainer Congresswoman Carol Miller was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives to represent West Virginia's Third Congressional District in 2018. ​Miller serves on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, the Oversight and Reform Committee, and the House Select Committee on Climate Crisis in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Prior to her election to Congress in 2018, Congresswoman Miller served in the West Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2017 where she rose to become the first female Majority Whip. In addition to her public service, Carol is active in her community and is a former member of the Women’s Heart Advisory Board, St. Mary’s Regional Heart Institute, Marshall University Society of Yeager Scholars, West Virginia Commission for the Arts, and Lily’s Place, as well as many other organizations.

Junior League of Huntington Sustainer and former Junior League President Christie Kinsey was nominated for Huntington's Citizen of the Year in 2017. You can read about her in the Hearld-Dispatch. 

"What started by joining the Huntington Junior League when she first arrived has over the years bloomed into leading roles in about a dozen organizations across the city. The duties vary, from helping select Marshall University's newest Yeager Scholars, to volunteering at the Huntington Museum of Art, to organizing fundraising efforts for the Help For Animals clinic."


Junior League Sustainer Rebecca Crowder was featured in People magazine for her work at Lily's Place, an organization that works with babies who are suffering through drug withdrawal and their families.

Junior League Sustainer Marilyn Murdock was the very deserving recipient of the 2016 Zack Binkley Award for Community Service from The Herald-Dispatch.

Junior League Sustainer Mary Witten Wiseman was on the team that helped Huntington win the America's Best Communities competition ... and a cool $3 million! 

Junior League Sustainer Martha Woodward, along with the entire Junior League of Huntington, was honored with the 2016 Service to Children Award from the TEAM for West Virginia Children. www.teamwv.org
