Kids in the Kitchen.
The Kids in the Kitchen (KITK) program was initially executed in 2006 by the Association of Junior Leagues International; more than 200 Junior Leagues in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom Support the program. The program addresses urgent issues surrounding childhood obesity and poor nutrition and focuses on empowering children to adopt healthy habits with the support of their caregivers, by offering free local events and hands-on activities. Since it's beginning in 2006, several hundred million people have been reached with messages about the Kids in the Kitchen program.
The Junior League of Huntington brought the program to the Huntington community in 2009 and since have impacted the lives of more than 500 children and their caregivers. Through the Kids in the Kitchen program, we continue to combat the epidemic of childhood obesity.
